New Llwybr Cymru Trail – First Section Opens in Porthkerry

The first 80km section of the Llwybr Coedwig Cymru Trail, part of the National Forest for Wales, officially launched in Porthkerry Country Park earlier this month.

This new long‑distance route celebrates Welsh nature, woodland and local heritage. Find out more: Llwybr Coedwig Cymru Trail | GOV.WALES

If you're out and about across the Vale this Easter you might also notice we have upgraded the public toilet facilities at Porthkerry Country Park and Cosmeston Lakes Country Park recently with further upgrades underway in our four main town centres:

  • Barry - underway,
  • Penarth - coming soon

The Holiday Craft Afternoon at the Drill Hall Chepstow is this Thursday 2 April 2-4pm. 'Drop-In-and-Make' - have fun getting creative together - family and friends can get together around the big tables for a few hours of making. Led by the fab creative volunteers for MonLife Heritage Museums.

Suitable for all ages + it's free thanks to Chepstow Town Council. No need to book.

Bring the whole family and follow our fun Easter Trail as you explore the historic buildings, parkland and galleries at St Fagans. Search high and low, keep your eyes peeled, and tick off each egg as you discover them. It’s the perfect way to add a little extra adventure to your visit.

Protect Your Loved Ones: Free Family First Aid Awareness Course

Gain peace of mind and essential skills with our Family First Aid Awareness session. This friendly, hands-on course is designed to give you the confidence to apply basic life-saving techniques in everyday situations.

Course Details

When: Wednesday, 15th April.
Time: 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM (2 hours).
Where: MOD St Athan West Camp Community Centre, Starling Road.
Cost: Completely FREE—fully funded by The Family Foundation’s latest project.

Who Can Attend?

This session is open to Wives, Spouses or partners of serving personnel, including Reservists. No prior experience is required to join.
