Edinburgh: The Royal British Legion Scotland Community Coffee morning Tuesday 16th June 10:30-12:00

We’re pleased to welcome colleagues from Sight Scotland Veterans, who will be joining us to give a short presentation on the vital services and support they provide for veterans and their families.

Join us for a relaxed morning of warm drinks, delicious cake, and great company, with plenty of time to connect, chat, and catch up with others in the community.

Best Start Grant and Best Start Foods are payments that help towards the costs of being pregnant or looking after a child.
About Best Start Grant

The 3 Best Start Grant payments are:

Pregnancy and Baby Payment
Pregnancy and Baby Payment helps with the costs of having a baby. You can apply for this payment during pregnancy to help prepare for your baby's arrival, or after your baby is born.

Early Learning Payment
If your application is successful you'll get £319.80 to help with the costs of early learning. You can get the payment when your child is aged between 2 years old and 3 years and 6 months old. To get this payment your child does not need to go to nursery.

School Age Payment
School Age Payment is a payment of £319.80 per child. It helps with the costs of preparing for school when your child is first old enough to start primary school.

Scotland: Scottish Veterans Residence (SVR), Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow

Due to a few of our residents successfully moving on to independent living, we currently have a few spaces available, including at our Dundee residence Rosendael. We support ex-Service men and women of all ages, and also those who have served in the Merchant Navy. Our residences are in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee, but we help Veterans from across the UK and occasionally beyond.

Fife: Protected Learning Time for GP's Thursday 25th June

Some GP practices are taking part in a Protected Learning Time session on Thursday 25 June between 1pm and 6pm.

Practices take part in a number of sessions throughout the year to allow staff to access training.
