Leuchars: Veterans Breakfast the next breakfast is Tuesday 2nd April


The next Veterans Breakfast will be on Tues 2nd April in the Community Centre, hosted by the Station Tearoom.

All Veterans are welcome to attend.

Leuchars: Notification of an increase in night time flying activity at Leuchars Station, weeks commencing 15th & 29th April


There will be an increase in night time flying activity weeks commencing 15th & 29th April 2024, Monday to Thursday, from 1600 – 2359L. 

This essential flying is due to Aircraft conducting familiarisation flights. 
Any local enquiries (within 5 mile radius of Leuchars) to Air Traffic Control on 01334 857282.

Enquiries from areas outside the 5 mile radius should be directed to: 
SWK-lowflying@mod.gov.uk or by phone to 01780 417 558 
(Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm (excluding bank holidays).

Leuchars: Station Coffee Mornings are moving to every Monday from Monday 15th April 1030-1230

The Leuchars Station Coffee Morning is moving to a regular event each Monday from 15th April to avoid clashing with other facility users. 

Teegan in the Community Centre cafe will be hosting, with the promise of free regular tea & coffee between 1030-1230 and premium drinks available at extra cost. 

Feel free to bring along homemade/bought cakes to share with the group but please be mindful of allergies.

Soft play will be open to keep the little ones entertained along with the garden when we have better weather.

Special guests will also be invited so look out for further information in the coming weeks.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible from all of the Leuchars based units on a regular basis to make these community events.

Leuchars: Sunday Carvery at the Barrel & Bean 28th April for all Leuchars Station families

The next Leuchars Station Sunday Carvery in the Barrel & Bean will be held on 28th April at 1300hrs. 

This is a self-service event offered at discount by the friendly kitchen staff and includes two-courses.

Scotland: Forces Additional Needs and Disability Forum (FANDF) Spring Event, 18th April 2024 at Leuchars, applications close 4th Apr

The FANDF Committee are very excited to be heading North of the border to Leuchars in Scotland for our spring event on Thursday, 18th April.

Leuchars: Bob Marley One Love screening in the Community Centre Monday 15th April

The welfare team will be showing the recently released film, Bob Marley One Love in the Leuchars Community Centre on Monday, 15th April at 1900hrs.

The Station Tea Room will be open from 1830hrs, drinks and snacks will be available to purchase.

Fife: Cafe Inc Lunch Club is back during the school holidays, dates for Leuchars and other areas around Fife

Cafe Inc is a free lunch club for children, and young people. It provides tasty, healthy meals for our young people, while our schools are closed during the holidays. 

No need to book, just turn up. 

Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult, who can also have a meal.

Cafe Inc will be in the Community Hall (cash machine) Leuchars on the following dates; 

Tuesday 2nd, Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th April. 

Tuesday 9th, Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th April

From 11.45am - 1.00pm a packed lunch will be available

Scotland: Forces Children Scotland design a mascot competition - closing date Mon 29th April

We are asking children from armed forces and veteran families to get creative to design a charity mascot across three age categories.

We are looking for budding young artists from armed forces communities to design our mascot.

The mascot will feature on Forces Children Scotland’s website, resources, and promotional materials.

Young people have until the end of the Month of the Military Child (April) to get involved.

Aspiring artists – Grab your crayons, paintbrushes, and pencils

Digital designers – Open up Canva, Illustrator, or Photoshop

It’s time to showcase your creativity

Dunfermline: Scottish Champions Bike Racing at Knockhill Racing circuit free entry to Armed Forces and Blue Light card holders 27th-28th April

The first bike race meeting of the year will feature Scottish Championship and KMSC races on both days, with competitors eager to kickstart the season.

Prepare to witness incredible 160mph bike racing as the class contenders take to the track up to 4 times each over the weekend. With a total of over 140 competitors, the event will showcase seven different championships, including super-fast Superbike and Clubman machines with 1000cc bikes, 600s, Pre-Injection 600s, CB500s, Lightweights, Sidecars and the agile 300s class where racers as young as 12 years old compete on track.

The event format ensures a quick turnaround between races, providing up to 8 hours of high-speed, adrenaline-filled action each day.

Our Armed Forces, NHS & Blue Light Appreciation weekend offers free entry on both days to all serving and veterans of the Armed Forces, anyone working for the NHS or emergency workers with a Blue Light Card. Anyone accompanying gets in for our special concessional rate too. We all owe a debt to those who serve and work in the NHS – so we hope everyone enjoys their visit to Knockhill on us! Simply bring any proof of service, your NHS card, or Blue Light Card and you will gain free entry on both days.
