This guide has been created by MOD LGBT+ Allies to provide support and guidance to parents of LGBT+ children. We hope this guide will not only help those parents of LGBT+ Children and anyone going through a similar situation or interested in this area, but raise awareness to everyone who reads this guide. CPI increase announced as 3.1%

The CPI increase which will come into force next April has been announced as 3.1% by the ONS. This is the figure that will be used to increase all Armed Forces pensions in payment from April 2022.

SFA communications update on the installation of Electric Vehicle Charge Points (EVCP)

Update on the installation of Electric Vehicle Charge Points (EVCP) in SFA

Following a successful EVCP installation pilot in the South East region, we are pleased to inform families that the scheme is now being rolled out nationwide.

Families whose SFA has off-road parking or a dedicated garage within its immediate vicinity will be eligible to have an individual EVCP installed. Those that have registered for an EVCP and whose SFA meet the eligibility criteria, will be contacted by Pinnacle in the coming months to arrange for a survey and installation, where appropriate.

Subject to funding, estate-wide delivery of EVCPs is also being planned. Two estates – Woolwich and RAF Leeming – have been chosen for the initial delivery in late November, with other SFA estates also being considered. DIO will write to SFA families where estate delivery is planned to give full details prior to any works commencing.

If you have, or are in the process of purchasing, an electric vehicle and have not yet requested a charging point please contact the Pinnacle helpdesk to register your interest. There are no costs to families for an EVCP installation, and grant funding cannot be claimed.

Please note, if you install an EVCP without requesting approval, you may incur charges when moving out.

Further detailed guidance on EVCP installations can be found here.

Beverley: VANL and ERVAS Merger Exploration

VANL and ERVAS merger exploration

Voluntary Action North Lincolnshire and East Riding Voluntary Action Services (ERVAS) Ltd are exploring the potential the benefits of the two organisations merging. No decision has been made at this time, however we will be embarking on a thorough consultation process, with all who have an interest in the organisations - first and foremost members, followed by partners and funders.

The main reason we are exploring this is to strengthen voluntary sector support across the areas and improve long term sustainability of both organisations.

Veterans' Gateway - unclaimed service pensions

If you served in the Armed Forces after April 1975, you could have an unclaimed pension. AFPS 75 pensions earned before April 2005 are payable at age 60.

To claim your preserved pension, go to the Veterans UK website and fill in AFPS Form 8. You will not receive the pension automatically - you will have to make a claim. You should send the form off around 6 months before your pension is due. If you have passed the due date you can still claim using the same form.

Further information is available on the Veterans' Gateway website.
