Grantham: Gymnasium facilities for Grantham Station

Gymnasium opening times:

Monday to Thursday
0700-1730hrs
Friday 0700- 1300hrs

Outside these timings the gym still can be used but you will need to sign the key out from the guardroom and leave your ID with them.



To use the gym:

You will need a gym induction; this can be done by any PTI at the gym. Induction takes around 10 mins and the PTI will show you around the gym and make sure you are happy with the equipment etc, within the induction you will need to fill out a form - this form is a medical questionnaire and it is also confirmation you are happy with the induction.

You require:

x2 passport size photos
Proof of insurance - you are to hold a suitable level of personal accident insurance/ third party liability.

Applications are invited for the full-time post of Chief Executive, Highland Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association (HRFCA) based in Dundee. This Crown Service (Civil Service Grade 6/Grade B1 equivalent) post becomes vacant at a date between April and October 2025, to be agreed with the successful applicant.

HRFCA. HRFCA is one of 13 autonomous RFCAs, which are arms-length bodies of the Ministry of Defence (MOD) with Crown status, whose role is to provide specified support to the tri-service reserve forces and MOD-sponsored cadet forces across the northern two thirds of Scotland. Forces Connect South East is a cross border partnership comprising Hampshire, Surrey, Kent, East Sussex and West Sussex County Councils, Brighton and Hove, Medway Councils and Sussex NHS.

New MOD booklet 'benefits and support for Reserve families'

 

Today, Defence launches a new booklet for Reservists, and their families, on the benefits and support available. This includes financial discounts, healthcare, and career support.

Did you know that of the 190,170 total serving military personnel in the British Armed Forces, 18% of them are Reservists? This means that the Reserve Forces make up approximately one sixth of Armed Forces personnel.

Reservists make a critical contribution in the Armed Forces and are integral to protecting the nation’s security at home and overseas. Keep reading to find out more about what Reservists do, and how they make a positive impact in the Armed forces.

Do you know what support and benefits are available?

Today, Defence has published a new booklet outlining key benefits, services, and support for Reservists and their families. This includes:

  • Healthcare, including mental health and welfare support.
  • Information and support services.
  • Military and financial discounts, childcare, and other family friendly policies.

Reserves Continuous Attitude Survey 2024 - results published

Findings from the Reserves Continuous Attitude Survey (ResCAS 2024) have been published on GOV.UK: ResCAS 2024 publication.

What is RESCAS? 

ResCAS is MOD’s annual survey which gathers information on the attitudes and experiences of Volunteer Reservists across the Tri-Services.

2024 Survey Results

This year, a total of 4,656 Reservists completed ResCAS.

The survey found 70% of Volunteer Reserves are satisfied with life in the Reserve in general, and 89% are proud to serve in the Service. Satisfaction with pay was 43% and the annual bounty was 63%. Overall, there has been a decreasing trend in satisfaction with pay and the annual bounty since 2021.

The top 3 reasons cited by Reservists for joining the Reserve Service were; to serve their country (64%), for the challenge (59%), and for personal development (58%).

Building Heroes - 2024 courses available for booking

 


Building Heroes are offering fully training in multi trades for Veterans, Service Leavers, Family members, Reservists and select places for those over 19 with a desire to access the industry.

Learners will gain a C&G Level 1 in multi trades, C&G Level 1 Health & Safety and CSCS card.

We have academies in both Watford and Wembley . As well as the qualifications being gained learners will be able to gain onsite work experience, training alongside ex military, direct employment into associated supply chains to the employer, and access to fully funded level 2 courses upon completion through the training provider.
