The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment - Veterans Football Tournament - Sat 27th June


As part of The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment 20th Anniversary Celebrations, the 1 LANCS and 4 LANCS football teams will take on veterans teams from across the region in a knockout tournament!

Saturday 27th June

As a Media Officer (Reserve), you’ll work alongside RAF personnel on real operations and exercises, shaping how the RAF is seen in the UK and around the world. It’s elite training, incredible access, and unforgettable experiences, while keeping your civilian career.

Who we’re looking for:
You must be currently employed, self‑employed, or studying as a journalist or PR practitioner, with a portfolio of published work and excellent written English. Trade‑specific education requirements apply, alongside standard RAF eligibility, fitness, and a commitment of 27 days per year.

Grantham: Gymnasium facilities for Grantham Station

Gymnasium opening times:

Monday to Thursday
0700-1730hrs
Friday 0700- 1300hrs

Outside these timings the gym still can be used but you will need to sign the key out from the guardroom and leave your ID with them.



To use the gym:

You will need a gym induction; this can be done by any PTI at the gym. Induction takes around 10 mins and the PTI will show you around the gym and make sure you are happy with the equipment etc, within the induction you will need to fill out a form - this form is a medical questionnaire and it is also confirmation you are happy with the induction.

You require:

x2 passport size photos
Proof of insurance - you are to hold a suitable level of personal accident insurance/ third party liability.

Come and meet the Employer Engagement Team along with Reservists from 152 (North Irish) Regiment RLC, 206 (Ulster) Battery RA and B (North Irish Horse) Squadron for an ARMY RESERVE ENGAGEMENT AND OPEN DAY on Sunday 17 May from 1000 to 1300 hours.

See the newly refurbished facilities and find out from the Reservists themselves, what it means to be a part of these three exciting units, based in Coleraine Army Reserve Centre.

Hampshire County Council is proud to be part of Forces Connect South East

Forces Connect South East is a cross border partnership comprising Hampshire, Surrey, Kent, East Sussex and West Sussex County Councils, Brighton and Hove, Medway Councils and Sussex NHS.

It is a two-year Ministry of Defence Armed Forces Covenant Funded Programme aimed at making it easier for servicemen and women and their families, as well as reservists and veterans, to access public sector services including healthcare, housing, schools, financial advice and support to find jobs.

Almost £1 million awarded to projects that support Service partners

The Supporting Partners Programme 2025/26 awards almost £1 million to projects that empower Service partners to thrive.

A further 17 projects have been awarded almost £1 million (www) to help promote skills and experience in the workplace, enhance access to vital services, and improve wellbeing.

Compared to last year, this year’s Supporting Partners Fund allocated over 20% more funding to projects and received more overseas applications than ever before.

Bigger budget, bigger impact

Here are some of the important projects that have been awarded grants in the latest round of funding under the Supporting Partners Programme.

AI training initiative to bring new opportunities to partners, worldwide

The British Forces Broadcasting Service (BFBS) (www) provides a range of media outlets and events for British forces and their families. Supporting Partners Funding will help to deliver an online and in person training programme for Service partners, worldwide.

New MOD booklet 'benefits and support for Reserve families'

 

Today, Defence launches a new booklet for Reservists, and their families, on the benefits and support available. This includes financial discounts, healthcare, and career support.

Did you know that of the 190,170 total serving military personnel in the British Armed Forces, 18% of them are Reservists? This means that the Reserve Forces make up approximately one sixth of Armed Forces personnel.

Reservists make a critical contribution in the Armed Forces and are integral to protecting the nation’s security at home and overseas. Keep reading to find out more about what Reservists do, and how they make a positive impact in the Armed forces.

Do you know what support and benefits are available?

Today, Defence has published a new booklet outlining key benefits, services, and support for Reservists and their families. This includes:

  • Healthcare, including mental health and welfare support.
  • Information and support services.
  • Military and financial discounts, childcare, and other family friendly policies.
