Blackpool: World Fireworks Championship September/October 2026

World Fireworks Championship Blackpool return for 2026

Dates have now been confirmed for this year’s spectacular World Fireworks Championship Blackpool, one of the resort’s most iconic autumn events.

Three countries will compete across three nights:
  • 12 September – Celtic Fireworks for Wales - 8.15pm firing time build up from 7.45pm
  • 6 September – Fireworks for Africa for South Africa - 7.45pm firing time build up from 7.15pm
  • 10 October – Haupt Feuerwerke for Germany- 7.30pm firing time build up from 7pm
Each breathtaking display - synchronised to music and launched from the beach in front of The Blackpool Tower - is completely free to attend, offering visitors and residents the chance to enjoy world‑class pyrotechnics in an iconic location.

Bovington - Tank Museum south west model & wargaming event - Sat 12th & Sun 13th Sept

Partnering with Warlord Games, The Tank Museum's Autumn South West Model Show is set to be full of wargaming models and demonstrations.

Featuring traders, exhibitors, and build-your-own model tank activities, the event will bring together modellers, wargamers and military history enthusiasts.
With a full programme of expert talks, visitors to the Museum will be able to hear leading wargaming experts discuss their painting tips and tricks, answer questions about miniature design, and explain how Warlord Games turned a Second World War tank into a Konflikt '47 walker.

Elliot Wills, Events Operations Manager, said: "Whether you're an experienced wargamer, keen to learn something new, or simply looking for an action-packed day out, there's something for everyone at this year's South West Model Show."

Alongside the special event programme, visitors can learn about The Tank Museum's collection of more than 300 military vehicles. They can also join an epic tabletop gaming battle featuring miniature brick models.


Younger visitors can enjoy the Museum's tank-themed soft play and outdoor play area.

Chepstow: Medieval Mayhem with Bowlore at Cardiff Castle on Sat 12th & Sun 13th September 2026

Chepstow Castle:

Experience the sights and sounds of medieval life, as historical re-enactment group Bowlore takes over Chepstow Castle!

Displays and demonstrations taking place throughout the day, with have-a-go archery and sword school for anyone who thinks they have what it takes to become a medieval knight!

Please be aware there will be an additional charge for these activities.
