Blandford: Garrison youth club sessions (inters & seniors) Mon & Wed

Venue: Semaphore Arms Function Room (located near the WRVS/Junior Rates Cookhouse and WO/Sgts Mess).



Junior sessions, for children in school years 1 to 3 will return in due course. More information to follow in the coming weeks.

Wales: The Royal Mint Museum Short Story Competition for children aged 7 - 11, open for entries: 16th Feb to 17th April

 

Royal Mint Museum’s Short Story Competition.

For the sixth year running, we are holding our popular annual Short Story Competition.
The competition is open to children aged 7 to 11.

Students are invited to submit a story of no more than 500 words based on Gold. From buried treasure to secret vaults filled with gold bars and coin hoards, we are asking students to engage their imagination and write about glistening gold.

The competition is open for entries from 16th February until 17th April 2026. Simply submit your entries here or you can also post your entries to us following the guidance in our FAQs.

The winner will receive a gold coin, £5,000 for their school or local library, and their story illustrated by an artist.
