Leconfield: Use of Flea Foggers in SFA

Use of Flea Foggers in SFA

There have been an increased number of instances of families living in SFA using flea foggers (“flea bombs”). To protect Service personnel, families and neighbouring properties, the use of flea foggers ("flea bombs") is prohibited in SFA due to the potential for property damage and harm to occupants.

Flea foggers release a combustible aerosol and can create significant fire, explosion and health-and-safety risks, as well as trigger smoke alarms and unnecessary emergency service call-outs.

Families are responsible for keeping their homes free from flea infestations through preventative pet treatments, regular cleaning and appropriate flea control measures.

Where flea treatment is required, alternative aerosol or powder products from reputable manufacturers should be used. Any treatment carried out before move out must be declared to the Pinnacle Housing Officer, with details of the product used.

Failure to comply may result in damage recovery costs, additional cleaning charges, maintenance delays and other associated costs being recovered from the resident.
