Over £3.3 million awarded in latest round of Covenant Fund awards

The Armed Forces Covenant Trust (the Trust) is delighted to announce over £3.3 million has been awarded in the latest series of grants made under the Covenant Fund.

The Trust has supported a total of 34 fantastic projects across four different Covenant Fund programmes, all set to make significant improvements for Armed Forces communities across the UK.
  • Service Women: Seen & Heard has awarded over £700K to eight projects tackling the underlying issues unique to serving women, providing improved access to support for their mental and physical health and wellbeing.
  • Free From Fear has awarded just over £700K to five projects addressing domestic abuse through preventative measures or providing support routes for survivors in Armed Forces communities.
  • Serving Families: On the Move has awarded just over £1M to 11 projects helping to improve the quality of life for Service families impacted by relocation.
  • Embedding Prevention of Veteran Suicide has awarded just over £860K to 10 projects enabling systemic change and long-term, sustainable impact, building on the findings from the One is Too Many programme.

SENSORY BORROW BAGS 

Did you know that you can borrow a Sensory Borrow Bag when you visit us here at Affinity Lancashire in Fleetwood?

Our Sensory Borrow Bags have been designed to make shopping trips more enjoyable for customers with Sensory Processing Disorders (SPD) or who are on the Autistic Spectrum (ASD).

The bags can be borrowed from the Centre Management Office, which is located near the main entrance, and include noise-cancelling ear defenders, fidget toys and visual communication cards to help manage sensory overload. When you've enjoyed your visit, simply return your bag to us for another visitor to use!

Badminton
Ages 11 to 18.
A session for young people to play games of badminton in a tournament style and develop their skills with informal coaching. No pre-booking necessary, register at the session.

Cheltenham: New centre for under-fives with special needs set to open in Cheltenham

 

Following the successful pilot of an Early Years Special Educational Needs centre in Coney Hill, Gloucester, the council has awarded Dingley’s Promise a three-year contract to provide support until 2028, which includes a new centre in Cheltenham.

Dingley's Promise is a national charity that provides nursery provision, holiday playschemes and family support for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The children they work with have a wide range of additional needs including cognitive delay, autism, physical disabilities, genetic conditions, and life-limiting conditions.
