Scotland: Veterans First Point mental health support for Veterans

People who served in Afghanistan may be experiencing increased Mental Health and emotional difficulties in light of recent events.

It is crucial that you have access to the right support and help when needed.

Mental health support for veterans can be accessed through specialist veterans’ support organisations Veterans First Point and Combat Stress.

Find support here: www.veteransfirstpoint.org.uk

Veterans can also access general services through the NHS24 Mental Health Hub by calling 111 and the Breathing Space by calling 83 85 87.

Scotland: Erskine transitional supported accommodation for Veterans

Erskine provides unrivalled support to veterans in Scotland, through four care homes and a Veterans Village, comprising of 44 cottages, an Activity Centre, five Assisted Living Apartments and 24 Single Living Apartments.
Erskine has recently completed the build of 24 apartments on the Bishopton Estate. These apartments, which will be known as David Boyle Court, will be prioritised for occupation by single ex-service men and women of working age, and will be available for tenancy in Spring 2021. This project is to support Service leavers and Veterans whose life or transition plans have been disrupted. The accommodation is offered with wrapround support so that Veterans have a mutual support base in which to reflect, reorientate and retrain before relocating to the region and employment of their choice – giving back to their community in the way we know they can.
