Gosport: Gosport Heritage open days 6th-15th September

Heritage Open Days is England's biggest heritage festival. It celebrates our fantastic history, architecture and culture. It is an event for everyone, whatever their background, age or ability. Every year, on four days in September, it offers people the chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences that bring local history and culture to life - all of which are FREE to explore and right on people's doorstep.

The Roots - Gosport ran the very first pilot back in 1992 and proved a great success, so Heritage Open Days were established as a National event in 1994 as England's contribution to the European Heritage Days. It has since developed into Britain's largest and most popular grassroots heritage events.

Local success - The popularity of Heritage Open Days goes from strength to strength in Gosport. Last year, over 4 days, we held 66 informative and interesting events that attracted a record 12,534 visits.
