Bob Dylan fans can enjoy Girl From The North Country (12A TBC) on Thursday 5 December. Les Misérables: The Stage Concert (40th Anniversary) (12A TBC) kicks off the new year on Tuesday 4 February. The screening shows the 2019 stage concert featuring an all-star cast including Michael Ball, Alfie Boe, Carrie Hope Fletcher, Matt Lucas and John Owen Jones.

Up next is Billy Elliot The Musical (15) on Sunday 30 March 2025, celebrating 20 years since it opened in the West End. The original creative team behind the film, including writer Lee Hall (book & lyrics), director Stephen Daldry, and choreographer, Peter Darling, is joined by music legend Elton John (music) to produce a funny, uplifting and spectacular theatrical experience that will stay with audiences forever.

Closing CinemaLive’s The World’s Greatest Stage Musicals – Season Two, is a screening of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar (12A TBC) on Tuesday 15 April 2025.

This year also brings the launch of a host of Global Stage on Screen live screenings, featuring HD recordings of recent top stage and dance productions from East Asia.

The first screening will be Writing in Water on Wednesday 11 September. The story follows the extraordinary journey of He Shi, who comes back to Hong Kong after his studies in the UK. He Shi comes across a mysterious little girl when he’s about to inherit an old beach house from his late mother. Together with the little girl, He Shi embarks on a spiritual journey which enables him to experience life on an unimaginable level.

Next is Ambiguous on Monday 7 October, which focuses on minute details that challenge the precarious boundary between love and lethargy.

Other titles include The Diary of Song (Wednesday 13 November) and Principle (Monday 2 December). All Global Stage on Screen screenings are in Cantonese with English subtitles.

“We’re thrilled to be providing audiences with an exciting opportunity to witness some of East Asia’s best live theatre.” Says Marketing and Cinema Programming Assistant, Ethan Hargreaves, “It’s an honour for The Courtyard to be one of the first venues in the UK to screen these performances.”
