Northern Ireland: Police Service Northern Ireland (PSNI) - Rural Crime Week NI

It is only natural that people delight in exploring the open spaces across Northern Ireland, but there is also a need to respect the more rural areas too.

If you’re out enjoying rural areas, please be mindful of the following:

  • Do not tamper with or remove signs on electric fences that are in place to keep everyone safe – always follow instructions placed on gates.
  • Keep dogs on leads when in and around areas where livestock are residing.
  • Clean up after yourself and do not leave rubbish or glass bottles of any kind in fields – this can cause unnecessary harm to cattle and sheep.
If you see anything suspicious, or where anti-social behaviour may have taken place, report it to police on 101.
