Dorset: Home Start support and friendships for families

 



Home-Start offers friendship, practical support and emotional advice in the homes of families who are having difficulties managing parenting for a variety of different reasons such poor mental health, post-natal depression, disability, domestic abuse, bereavement, isolation and multiple births.

Our mission is to give children the best possible start in life, by supporting parents so they grow in confidence, strengthening and enjoying their relationships with their children and widening their links with the local community.

Foster Care Fortnight runs from Monday 13 May to Sunday 26 May. It is The Fostering Network’s annual campaign to raise the profile of fostering and show how foster care transforms lives. The theme this year is #FosteringMoments.

Gloucester Council’s foster carers and fostering support teams are sharing their standout memories and the special moments which make their roles so rewarding. It is an opportunity to celebrate the moments that define fostering journeys, big and small. Northern Ireland: 1st June Vehicle tests Temporary Exemption Certificates

 

From 1 June 2024, vehicles that were first registered between 1 June 2019 and 31 May 2020 or between 1 June 2017 and 31 May 2018, and have a valid Northern Ireland MOT will be given a Temporary Exemption Certificate (TEC).
This means they will not need a vehicle test (MOT) for 12 months from the date their current certificate expires.

Thirsk: Young Volunteers Needed for this years Summer Reading Challenge


Are you aged 13-24? We are looking for young volunteers to help deliver this year's Summer Reading Challenge between July and September! 

Summer Reading Challenge volunteers will work alongside library volunteers. They will welcome children and parents, give support, praise and encouragement to each child, helping them enjoy the experience and get maximum benefit from taking part. 

Full training and support will be given. It is an ideal opportunity to improve your UCAS application, enhance your CV and meet new people!

Portsmouth: D Day 80th anniversary commemoration June 2024


Portsmouth will be at the centre of the UK's national commemorations for D-Day 80 this June. 

2024 marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day. The anniversary will be marked with a national event taking place here in Portsmouth; part of a series of major commemorations taking place in both the UK and in France. 

On 5th June, the date that many soldiers set off from Portsmouth, an event on Southsea Common will see thousands of members of the public join D-Day veterans and VIP guests to mark the anniversary.

Absolutely thrilled to announce our new venture.

Most kids like to play football, but for some, the school or local team is just not a good fit…… Why? Because they have some sort of disability. 

We at Bedale Juniors want to offer football training and participation for ALL children no matter their ability!
