Domestic Abuse and Young People - 3 films

The following three short films have been created in partnership between a young person who lived with domestic abuse , the Phoenix Theatre, You Trust children and young persons domestic abuse advocate and North East Hampshire Domestic Abuse Forum, in order to reach out to children and young people who are living with domestic abuse at this time.

The dramas seek to deliver some key safety planning messages, information about support available and the importance of talking to someone in order to reduce isolation and feelings of helplessness for young people who may not be on the radar of their schools or other services.

The dramas have been uploaded to the Vimeo website so that schools, organisations and individuals can view these and then, through downloading, put these on their own websites and platforms – there is no charge for downloading or accessing the videos. The first episode is purposefully short in order to try and ensure that a young person can access this in private, with the other episodes being slightly longer for when the young person is confident they have time to watch these without fear of a perpetrator overseeing this.

The series is called ‘This Family Lizzy’s Story’ and is in three parts:
The password for all is ‘phoenix’.

Military CoWorking Network

The Military Coworking Network is a community run by and for military spouses. It is a place where we can share opportunities from the outside world with our community and connect, help and inspire each other. Our Coworking Hubs are non-commercial coworking spaces in military bases where we can collaborate, work and study together. Our online community is a place where military spouses can network and share contacts and ask each other for help and ideas about different ways of maintaining careers that are compatible with military life.

Join our community if you want to become a member of the network and connect with others who are maintaining their independence, whilst supporting someone serving in the Armed Forces.

Veterans News And Communications Hub

What is a Veteran
Veterans are defined as anyone who has served for at least one day in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces (Regular or Reserve) or Merchant Mariners who have seen duty on legally defined military operations. There are currently 2.4 million Veterans in Great Britain.

Listen to our team of Veterans talk about their experiences transitioning from the UK Armed Forces and what the word ‘Veteran’ means to them.

Why do Veterans make great business owners

After leaving the Service, many Veterans put their military skills to practice in the commercial sector. Consequently Veteran owned businesses are on the rise across a wide range of industries. In the video, 3 Veterans talk about their own experiences and why Veterans excel as small business owners. Read more about the contribution Veterans are making to the small business market in A Force for Business: Service leavers and Small Business.

Veteran community response to COVID-19 support
The Veteran community understands what it means to stand up and serve. Leaving the UK Armed Forces doesn’t change that dedication to service and during the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve seen thousands of Veterans stand up and serve once again.
