Scotland: Veterans and Benefits Factsheet

Child Poverty Action Group in Scotland, along with Armed Services Advice Project  have produced a factsheet that tells you how any means-tested benefits (benefits which are affected by your income and savings) are affected by certain armed forces payments administered by the Ministry of Defence (MOD).

It also tells you where to get help and advice with benefits and tax credits if you are a veteran or the family member of a veteran.

Service Pupil Premium

The Department for Education (DfE) provides additional funding (£310 per pupil) for State Schools, Academies and Free Schools to support Service children in England. Service Pupil Premium (SPP) is there to provide mainly pastoral support in recognition of the challenges these children may face.
Service parents, if they haven’t already done so, are encouraged to inform schools of their Service status before the Autumn school census deadline (6th October 2022). Without this information schools will miss out on this additional funding.
