Fife: NHS Fife - Enhancing the way patients on waiting lists receive information about referrals

NHS Fife are enhancing the way they communicate with patients on waiting lists with more services

Patients will now receive a text or email from NHS Scotland about their referral with NHS Fife.

Those with a registered mobile number or email address will be contacted in due course on how they can manage their referral through our secure online portal - Patient Hub.

This is being used by the following services and specialties:
 Gastroenterology
 Respiratory
 Cardiology
 ENT
 Ophthalmology
 Oral and maxillofacial surgery
 Gynaecology
 Urology
 General surgery
 Orthopaedics

Patients have the option to opt out of these communications and can do this through Patient Hub or by contacting their specialty. More info: https://brnw.ch/21wJjma

Fife: Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week 2024

Perinatal mental health (PMH) refers to the mental health of a mother during pregnancy, or in the first year after the birth of her baby.

Around one in five expectant and new mums are affected by perinatal mental illness and this can cover a wide range of conditions. These can have really significant and long-lasting effects on the mother, the baby both before and after birth, and the whole family.

Fife’s specialist perinatal and infant mental health service provides input for women with complex mental health needs and supports the relationship between babies and their mothers.

Please speak to your GP, midwife, health visitor or family nurse if you are experiencing difficulties and they can link in with our service.

We are pleased to support the Perinatal Mental Health Partnership, especially during Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week. If you’d like to learn more about maternal mental health, there's more information by clicking on the link below. You will find a lot of great resources about what perinatal mental health is and the routes to recovery. You can also hear parent voices and stories.
