NHS Step into Health: Internship Vacancy now open for Service Leavers and Veterans


NHS Step into Health are pleased to announce that recruitment for their Programme Assistant Internship is now open. To be eligible to apply for the internship you must be in the process of being or have been medically discharged from UK Armed Forces regular service within the last 5 years.

Location: Leeds with agile working (home based will be considered)

Role: Fixed term (12 weeks). Full time, flexible working patterns considered.

Salary: £22,837 (pro rata)

The post-holder will join the Step into Health team and will gain valuable experiences and skills which will be beneficial and transferable into other NHS roles. Stafford: Christmas lights switch on Saturday 16th November - event starts 3pm - lights switch on at 5pm Market Square Stafford

Three local Olympians will be turning on the Christmas Lights in Stafford next month.

Paris silver medal winners, Joe Clarke, Adam Burgess and Dan Bigham will be joining the Mayor of Stafford Borough on stage to light up the skies in the traditional countdown to the big day.

The event takes place on Saturday 16 November and attracts thousands of people to the Market Square in Stafford with live music and entertainment throughout the afternoon before the lights are turned on at 5pm. A spectacular firework display and more live music will then bring the curtain down on the popular event which is organised by Freedom Leisure on behalf of Stafford Borough Council.

Ross-On-Wye: Monster Books & Wreaths - Friday 1 November

On Friday 1st November Art Studio Ross will be back once again from 10am – 3pm but this time with the opportunity to create Monster Books and Wreaths at the Market House in Ross.

All these activities are free to attend with no booking required and have been supported by Herefordshire Council as part of the Ross-on-Wye Recovery Fund.

Aldershot: Lighting of the graves 10th November 2024


Lighting the graves 10th November at Aldershot Garrison Military Cemetery. 

In Aldershot, the home of the British Army, the community is awaiting the welcome return of the 'Lighting of the Graves' where 692 First World War graves will be adorned with a candle as a moment of poignant reflection.

Muster on the playing field carpark at 1pm. The parade will move off at 1.15pm down Lancaster road to the cenotaph, for 1.30pm full service and wreath laying. The parade then moves off to St Oswald's for a 2pm service, followed by refreshments in the church hall.
