The Army Cadet Force (ACF) is a national uniformed youth organisation sponsored by the Ministry of Defence. The delivery of youth work (the ‘cadet experience’) is led by civilian adult volunteers. The ACF operates to rules and regulations laid down by the Army. Administrative and logistic support is delivered by a 9 person team of RFCA Professional Support Staff led by the Cadet Executive Officer. Within the battalion the Cadet Commandant, a senior cadet force adult volunteer, is responsible to the Army for the delivery of the cadet experience and it is with this person the principal working relationship for the Cadet Executive Officer exists.
