Ross-on-Wye Town Council will be celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the liberation of Europe in 1945 on the evening of Thursday 8th May.
There will be 1940’s style live music from The Jazz Friday Big Band at ‘The Prospect’ from 7.00pm and a traditional Fish and Chip van will be on site with food available between 7.00pm – 9.00pm.
The event is free and everyone is invited to this very special occasion. So come along and dance the jive, or sit and listen to the wonderful music whilst enjoying a portion of traditional fish and chips.
This will be followed by the Lighting of the Beacon at 9.30pm by His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Herefordshire, Mr Edward Harley.
There will also be a passing of the flame of Remembrance, with audio visual presentations, music and ceremony at St. Mary’s Church from 7.00pm. The event is free and open to the
public.
