Scarborough Armed Forces Day is taking place on Saturday 28 June and is a fantastic day out for the whole family. The event was created as a way for us to celebrate and thank our service personnel, veterans, and their families. The day has a jam-packed programme including flying displays, military parades, performances, activities, and stalls.
The event formally opens with a civic ceremony with the Mayor and VIPs. During the day there will be a presentation of veteran’s badges and performances from the Yorkshire Volunteers Band, Yorkshire Corps of Drums and Scarborough Sea Cadet band. The East Riding Pipe Band will also be making their first appearance at Scarborough Armed Forces Day.
There will be stands, vintage military vehicles, and plenty of children’s activities on offer.
The air displays will be the centrepiece of Yorkshire’s largest Armed Forces Day event, and the skies above the town’s South Bay will host the sights and sounds of the RAF Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4 and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (Hurricane, Spitfire).
We offer a passport of offers and discounts for the day for service personnel and their families which including free children’s ice creams, sticks of rock, discounts at local restaurants, attractions, shops, transportation, and free tickets into the Peasholm Park naval warfare show and free trips on the Central Tramway. Vouchers and a letter of all the offers can be collected from the Heroes Welcome Scarborough stand found near the RNLI building on West Pier.
