Fife: The Cottage Family Centre; Are you a parent, carer, young person or working with families?

Fife Voluntary Action are currently leading a co-production project called Together for Change.

We are thrilled to be a part of this exciting co-produced project focusing on whole family wellbeing in Fife.

The project brings together people with lived experience of services & support, colleagues from the Third Sector, Fife Council and the Fife Health & Social Care Partnership.

We would love for you all to be involved with us and to have your say, let your voice be heard.

Over the coming weeks we are holding a series of collaborative conversation events throughout Fife. We are looking to engage with as many parents, carers, young people and staff currently working with families that we can to find out your thoughts and listen to your experiences of services and support for families in Fife.

There are a few ways people can book on to the events. The QR code on the below poster can be scanned, there is a link www.fva.org/togetherforchange which will take you directly to the booking form or people can email togetherforchange@fva.org to book a space.

If anybody has any questions, please feel free to contact Mark or Susan at Fife voluntary action on Susan.McGuire@fva.org mark@fva.org

Please note lunch will be provided at each event, we can't wait to have conversations with you all.

Aldershot: The Vine Centre

Based in Aldershot, Hampshire and supporting Rushmoor and the surrounding areas, we aim to support our community with their needs as and when they arise. The Vine Centre provides a broad range of services to the most disadvantaged members of our community and we seek to fulfil the basic needs of anyone who seeks our help.

Our mission is to serve the community, enabling individuals to move towards independence, make sustainable change in their lives, reduce social isolation and improve their quality of life by offering specialised support in a safe environment. We support adults and families that are socially isolated, long-term unemployed, homeless or poorly housed, suffering with mental health, addiction or learning difficulties. Often individuals will access more than one of our services - and they are always welcome to join anything we have on offer.

Sunny Days Children’s Nursery Lyneham is delighted to have been awarded £68,000 in funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust’s AF3 EYP programme for 2022/23.

This money will be put towards a total garden transformation at our Lyneham nursery and preschool.

Fiona Webb, Director of Sunny Days Children’s Nursery says: “We are delighted with the funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust. We have started to work in partnership with Timotay Playscapes to transform the current outdoor space to create a specialised outdoor learning environment.”

Fiona continues: “The space will be designed using different zones, creating a unique, inclusive, sensory-rich, and challenging outdoor provision accessible for all learners regardless of individual need and disability. The new space will provide an all-weather solution, accessible for all learners. The objective of this project is to create a unique, inclusive, sensory-rich, and challenging outdoor provision, accessible for all learners, to be used as an extension to the school’s curriculum.”

Fife: Are you about to transition from the Armed Forces and have children?

Forces Children Scotland 'Ruby Boots' children's Buddy Mentors are friendly listeners for children of parents transitioning from the Armed Forces into civilian life.

When parents leave the armed forces, it means big changes for their children too.
Ruby Boots helps young people in Fife with parents leaving the armed forces or have recently done so.

Ruby Boots provide peer buddy mentors, who are young people who have already made the change from military to civilian life with their families.
Peer Buddy Mentors will share lived experience, answer important questions, provide friendship, and organise fun-based activities and much more.

So, that means we’re looking for young people who have veteran parents in Fife to get involved too to sign-up as peer Buddy Mentors.
We’re also looking for adults from all backgrounds to get involved as Facilitators to help relationships to flourish between the young people involved in Ruby Boots.

Ruby Boots is funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust.
