Folkestone: Have Your Say on the Folkestone Highways Improvement Plan

Folkestone Town Council and Kent Highways are working on a Highways Improvement Plan (HIP) that aims to highlight highways improvement and safety requests from local residents’ associations, community groups and individuals. Highway improvements can range from pedestrian crossings, traffic calming methods, cycling and walking schemes and speed management measures.

Consultation is an integral and important part of the success of the scheme and FTC would therefore like to hear from residents highlighting any highways improvements or safety concerns in their local area and these will then be prioritised for possible inclusion within the HIP for Folkestone.

Dorset: Road safety. Deer season, be aware when driving

Image: Dorsetcouncil

A reminder to be vigilant while driving as we are in the birthing season when numbers of deer on and near the road increase.

Highest risk times are between sunset and midnight, and the hours shortly before and after sunrise.

During peak danger periods, or on roads where hitting a deer is a possibility, drive with caution and be on the lookout for deer near the road.

Seen one? Look for another: More deer may well follow the one you have noticed.

For more advice, including the steps to take if you sadly hit a deer, click
