Building Heroes - 2024 courses available for booking

 


Building Heroes are offering fully training in multi trades for Veterans, Service Leavers, Family members, Reservists and select places for those over 19 with a desire to access the industry.

Learners will gain a C&G Level 1 in multi trades, C&G Level 1 Health & Safety and CSCS card.

We have academies in both Watford and Wembley . As well as the qualifications being gained learners will be able to gain onsite work experience, training alongside ex military, direct employment into associated supply chains to the employer, and access to fully funded level 2 courses upon completion through the training provider.

Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) - Veterans' Adjustment Passports

 

New Adjustments Passports will support hundreds of sick and disabled Armed Forces leavers’ to start and stay in work, delivering on a key Government priority to remove barriers to the labour market and grow the economy.

The scheme, announced by the Department for Work and Pensions and the Ministry of Defence on Tuesday 11 July, will help those leaving service with an injury, disability or health condition move more smoothly into employment.

The latest issue of Unforgotten Forces magazine is out now. Inside you'll find an introduction to Fighting with Pride in Scotland, features on the experiences of older female veterans, and an in-depth look at support for older veterans in rural areas with stories from Legion Scotland, Combat Stress, FirstLight Trust for Veterans and Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Clubs.

We have a focus on support for independent living, including a spotlight on Blesma, The Limbless Veterans. 

We also report on how DMWS and Fares4Free are collaborating to offer escorted hospital journeys for veterans that need them
