Blandford: Garrison activities update from CDW Craig Hutton.

Starting week Mon 16th Sep, we begin all the clubs again. We start with Seniors on Tuesday evening and we are heading to the cinema on camp to see Beetle Juice. This will cost £2 per young person and the rest will be subsidised by us. There may be the option to buy tuck from the cinema if they have volunteers to do it or the young people will be able to go to the shop. More details will follow by the end of the week.

We still have no volunteers for Soccer @ Six so until we get some to run that it will stay offline for now.

We will be letting people know the programme for all groups for the next 12 weeks in the next few weeks.

If you want to volunteer with us then please do let me know.

Seniors 19:00 at the Jubilee Hall on Tuesday the 17th then back to normal the following week with a 18:00 start

Juniors 16:00 until 17:00 Wednesday 18th

Inters 17:30 until 19:00 Wednesday 18th

Watermelon Tots will have Dorset County Council Rhyme Time coming 18th 09:30 until 11:30 (need to confirm this with Tiffany)

We will be starting Army Welfare Service coffee mornings once a month as requested by you

Also we have received £1000 towards a trip for seniors next year around May half Term. This will be for a group of 12 15-17 year olds to go to Europe-Belgium-Germany for 4/5 nights to look at and research a number of Royal Signallers who fell in the battle. We are at the early stages of this but it is going to be really exciting. The Museum have started working with us to look at the research. If your young person is of that age then get them signed up to youth club to be a young leader.

Any questions what so ever please do let me know.

Aldershot: Life in a Green Suit West End Centre 21st Sept 1900hrs

Poignant and occasionally amusing – this is a beautiful heart-warming solo performance set at a military funeral where a woman reflects on her life both as a serving officer and military wife and the impact that lifestyle has had on her marriage and her children. Using poetry, storytelling, and performance. This a special performance for Armed Forces Day supported by The Ministry of Defence and Alfie James Productions.

Reading Force Book Clubs

Reading Force is tri service, and we welcome Veterans/Reservists and their families as well as ex-service families (due to separation, divorce or bereavement).

We are looking for volunteers to run a book club with our support. My role is to share ideas on how to run a book club and help you to choose suitable books from our available titles. We have a great selection of books available and we will send out 3 books to each member from this list. These books are free of charge for each book club member to keep.

I can help with questions to ask at the book club meetings, how to keep your book club going after the three free books from Reading Force and much more. Email: nicola@readingforce.org.uk

See attached links to our website which will give you some more information.
