This session is primarily for, but not limited to, families of children with autism; young people and adults with autism; children with social, emotional, or mental health needs; adults living with dementia and any other visitors with sensory needs or who may prefer a more relaxed experience.

Stafford: Staffordshire smart alert - Positive Action



The country pro active and rural team have been working with the local neighbourhood team, British Transport Police, Violence Reduction Team and our Major organised crime department on Monday to target county lines drug dealing and safeguard vulnerable children. 

They have conducted several stop searches, resulting in the arrest of a female found in possession of cannabis individually wrapped. She has been bailed pending further investigation. 

A male was also arrested after found in possession of cannabis and a knife. He was also wanted by Derbyshire for criminal damage.’

Military Women’s Health & Wellbeing Conference - 23/24 Apr 25


Centre for Military Women's Research (CMWR) at Anglia Ruskin University is holding its second conference in April themed around the health and wellbeing of women in the military community. The first day of this international conference includes a wide range of speakers and panel discussions on women's experiences during and after military service, ending with a drinks reception. The second day comprises a choice of four workshops on different aspects of the theme, concluding with a review and plenary.

One of Ledbury’s popular events – the Ledbury Big Breakfast – is taking place over Friday 31st January, Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd February 2025.

Local shops, cafes, hotels and other food outlets in and around Ledbury are challenged to come up with special breakfast offerings for you featuring locally produced food to brighten a winter’s day.

Breakfasts can be big or small, traditional or newly invented, to be enjoyed in our local eating places or taken home for enjoyment. Many venues will provide vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options.

Research Participants Sought - Survey of British Military Parents


Challenges, support mechanisms and coping strategies of parents in the British armed forces.


Who is doing this research? The research will be conducted by Lt Col Jess Beck, a student on the Advanced Command and Staff Course, Defence Academy of the United Kingdom, and will be supervised by Dr Ellen Hallams, School of Security Studies Lead for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, King’s College London. 

What is the research about? The study will examine the challenges, advantages and disadvantages of being a parent in the British military, and the coping strategies which are used by military parents. It aims to understand what additional support and flexibility is required to enable a military career to be maintained, and where there are current shortfalls. 

Am I eligible to participate? You are eligible to participate in the study if you are a Regular member of the British military, have one or more children, and are aged over 18.

Northern Ireland: Combat Stress - Are You A Woman Who Served In The UK Armed Forces?

 
Combat Stress are looking for women who have served in the UK Armed Forces to take part in a new study exploring how former service personnel cope with challenging or stressful experiences.

Continuing the work with women veterans, they’re inviting any women who have served to take part by completing an online questionnaire and then an online one-to-one interview. They hope the findings can help better inform support services and programmes to harness veterans’ unique skillsets and experiences.

Forces in Mind Trust (FiMT) is conducting research with QinetiQ and RAND to better understand the transition process from military to civilian life. The study aims to improve services for ex-Service personnel and their families.
