Wiltshire Council have launched a brand-new web app to help you find events and activities in the county, all year round!

Explore Wiltshire Events enables you to search for events based on location, category, date and available amenities. It is packed with events from around the county, to help you find everything from community celebrations and family-friendly concerts to fun-filled festivals and exciting exhibitions.

Wiltshire: Carer Friendly Wiltshire

 

A new online service for carers called Carer Friendly Wiltshire has been launched with support and advice. Carers can find out about Carer ID cards which provide benefits, offers and services as well as having in case of emergency contact details.

Unpaid carers do an amazing job every day. Wiltshire Council worked with our carers and providers on a strategy to provide the right care, support and opportunities.

Tayside: Defence Medical Welfare Service awarded 2 year grant enabling expansion of services Tayside

DMWS are excited to have been awarded a two-year grant from The MacRobert Trust. 

This critical funding will allow us to expand our services to Tayside, an area of Scotland where there is great need, and reach more members of the Armed Forces Community who need us.

Gloucestershire: New 'Connect and Offload' wellbeing service

 

The new helpline, ‘Connect and Offload’, or CandO (pronounced ‘can do’) for short is designed to provide support when someone first notices signs and symptoms of their mental health worsening. It will be open to any adult who is experiencing issues with their emotional wellbeing, such as low mood, anxiety, stress and loneliness.

It also includes support and advice for individuals seeking help with self-harm allowing them to receive the support they need, alongside wider support for their overall emotional wellbeing.

Who are Army Welfare Service?

The Army Welfare Service (AWS) is the Army’s professional welfare provider; it delivers a comprehensive and confidential welfare service responsive to the needs of individuals, families and the Chain of Command in order to maximise the operational effectiveness of Service Personnel.

Who are Community Support?

Community Support secures or directly provides learning and personal development opportunities for military personnel and their families wherever they are living. Non- formal education opportunities are provided within Community, Youth and Play Centres and Projects to children, young people and their families throughout the year and across the UK and overseas.

Community Support delivers additional activities during school holidays, including Easter and Summer programmes and offsite residential experiences. Community Support staff adopt best practices, are compliant with government legislation and guidelines, and in doing so promote a stronger sense of community and well-being.
