Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust launches first new Armed Forces Covenant Fund programme for 2024/25 - Serving Families: On the Move
Serving Families: On the Move is now open for applications for grants of up £120,000 for two-to-three-year projects that will improve the quality of life for Service families impacted by relocation as a direct result of Service life.
The Trust ran a public consultation in 2023, which identified that one of the key areas to focus on was ‘Reducing stress and challenges for Armed Forces families'. This family focused programme will address this aim by strengthening connections with local communities, leading to better support for those facing relocation as a direct result of Service. The consultation findings are available to read on The Trust website.

Dorset: School transport & pupil bus passes
DCC school bus passes will be for the life of attendance at your school or college, subject to transport entitlement and so will not need to be re-issued every year. These passes contain an electronic chip. School vehicles are fitted with electronic chip readers that will allow passes to be checked and details of the journeys recorded.
If a bus pass is lost during the academic year you must obtain a temporary pass from your school office in order to continue using school transport until a replacement pass can be issued.

Hurricane Beryl - guidance for impacted personnel and their Chain of Command
The full extent of the damage caused by the storm is yet unknown and casualty numbers, while thankfully low so far, continue to grow. Communications with the impacted areas remain extremely challenging and it is unclear when telecommunications services will be restored.
Significant numbers of British Army personnel originate from the affected region and have immediate family and friends who may be directly impacted by the storm. Additionally, some civil servants working as part of the Chain of Command will be similarly affected.
The Chain of Command and Line Managers should be prepared to support affected personnel, including signposting to the range of support organisations available to them through the usual provision of British Army and civil service welfare resources.
The following resources provide information about the current impact of the storm:
