The Role:
Joining our dedicated Hampshire Equipment Service (HES) team as a Logistics Team Supervisor, you’ll lead and support our team of Equipment Delivery Drivers, empowering them to assist adults and children across Hampshire who need additional care. In this rewarding role, you’ll contribute to promoting people’s independence and enhancing their quality of life by helping to reduce, avoid or delay the need for ongoing care, while supporting them to remain living at home.
This is a brand-new role, giving you the opportunity to shape the role and make it your own. Whether you’re looking to expand your leadership skills, or embarking on your first step towards a management career, this is a fantastic opportunity to stretch yourself in a supportive environment.
What you’ll do: Team Management: Oversee team performance, manage and schedule workloads and shift cover, identify training needs, and provide effective leadership.
Support Operational Delivery: Assist the Management Team with service operations and deputise where required.
Conduct Reports and Audits: Undertake incident reports and quality audits.
Drive a Council Vehicle: You’ll be on the road with Equipment Delivery Drivers when leading training sessions and undertaking practical assessments.
What we’re looking for: Excellent Communication: Both verbal and written communication.
Performance Management: Skilled in addressing performance and competency issues.
Decision Making: Responsible, accountable and flexible in decision making processes.
Relationship Building: Able to build successful working relationships through strong interpersonal skills.
Person-Centred Approach: Committed to working with service users in a strengths-based way.
A Valid, Full UK Driving Licence: With parking facilities at home for a large van (parking permits can be paid for by the council).

Working Patterns

Facts and figures
- 1 in 4 of us will need a blood transfusion in our lives yet only 3% of those eligible give blood.
- In 2023, 1.44 million blood donations were made by 785,000 amazing individuals.
- The NHS needs 140,000 new first-time donors this year.
- Sickle cell is the UK's fastest-growing genetic disorder, and many patients require regular blood transfusions. For the best treatment, patients benefit from blood transfusions from donors of the same ethnicity.
- To ensure the donor base reflects the diversity of patients, the NHS needs 12,000 new donors of Black heritage this year.
- O negative is the universal blood type, crucial in emergencies or when a patient's blood type is unknown. Although only 8% of the population has O negative blood, it accounts for 15% of hospital orders.
- There are 25 permanent blood donation centres across the country, with the most appointments for donors in Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield, and London.
