Northern Ireland: Research Opportunity: Supporting Bereaved Families of NI Veterans

Research Opportunity: Supporting Bereaved Families of NI Veterans

The Northern Ireland Veteran Commissioner’s Office supports research that helps identify the needs of our veteran community, ensuring better services and increased funding for vital programmes.

We have been approached by researchers from Queen’s University Belfast, funded by FIMT, who are conducting a study on the experiences of families bereaved by the suicide of a Northern Ireland veteran. This important research aims to understand how such a loss affects survivors (families and friends impacted by suicide) and the support they received during this difficult time.
