Cardiff: Cardiff Met Summer School 2026 - Free short courses for adult learners - Open for bookings
Cardiff Met University:
We’re delighted to share that Cardiff Met’s Summer School 2026 is now open for bookings, offering adult learners a free and supportive way to explore new subjects and take their first step back into education.
Delivered by Cardiff Met’s Widening Access team, in collaboration with Reaching Wider, Summer School provides adults aged 18+ with the opportunity to try a wide range of engaging daytime courses at no cost. Priority is given to learners who live in areas of multiple deprivation or who face barriers to education, helping ensure those who could benefit most are able to take part. All courses are delivered during the day at our Llandaff campus between 22nd June and 3rd July, making them accessible for adults with caring responsibilities, including those needing to fit learning around the school run.
For many learners, Summer School is the beginning of something transformative. Taking part can build confidence, spark new interests and open doors to progression onto accredited community courses, with some learners ultimately continuing into part-time or full-time study at Cardiff Met.
This year we are offering over 30 short courses across a broad range of subject areas, including:
- Art, design and sewing
- Digital skills and robotics
- Education and teaching
- English language and IELTS preparation
- Sustainability and gardening
- Finance and enterprise
- Health and wellbeing
- Hospitality and food safety
- Sociology and psychology.
