The Role:
Join our Libraries and Community Hubs as a Maintenance Worker to help maintain safe, welcoming spaces for the public. Working alongside the Lead Technician, you’ll carry out repairs, support refurbishments and travel across the county using a Luton van.
What you’ll do:
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance on buildings, furniture and equipment.
- Support decoration touch-ups and heavy cleaning tasks.
- Move furniture and heavy/bulky items as needed.
- Use digital systems to plan and record work.
- Travel between sites to support different libraries.
What we’re looking for
- Practical experience in DIY-style maintenance and repairs.
- A flexible approach to varied workloads and schedules.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Comfortable using digital tools.
- Experienced driver with a full, clean driving licence.
- Your total hours are spread flexibly across the year, rather than worked to a fixed weekly schedule.
- You’ll receive a shift rota 2-4 weeks in advance, helping you plan around personal commitments.
- Monthly hours may vary, but your pay remains consistent – evenly distributed across the year.
