Armed Forces Suicide Prevention Strategy & Action Plan


The Armed Forces Suicide Prevention Strategy and Action Plan has been published today, demonstrating Defence's commitment to reduce suicide in the Armed Forces and provide support to those affected by it.

The Strategy establishes eight focus areas: Understand high risk groups within the Armed Forces
Educate the Armed Forces about suicide and its prevention

Enable individual resilience and support personal needs
Enable safe military environments
Enhance organisational management of those at risk
Enable access to support for those at risk
Develop accessible postvention support
Improve organisational learning

New 'Hoop into Basketball'

Drop-in to our basketball session with Kent Crusaders Basketball club.

Medway Park Sports Centre, Gillingham.

Every Monday (excludes bank holidays and school holidays)5.30pm to 6.30pm (under 10s, ages 7 years to 9 years)

6.30pm to 7.30pm (under 12s, ages 10 years to 12 years)

7.30pm to 8.30pm (under 16s, ages 13 years to 16 years)

The cost is £3 per session.
  
You do not need to book for this session, just turn up, pay and play.  Register upon arrival at Medway Park.

Scotland: Poppy Scotland Clyde Zip Slide Challenge is Back


Our Zip Slide challenge is back! 10th September 2022

A unique and thrilling way to see Glasgow's cityscape whilst raising funds for Poppyscotland.

This is a 100ft high and 1000ft long challenge, launching off from a crane next to the stunning Glasgow Riverside Museum - which has never been done before!

Experience the thrill of zipping down the Clyde

Just pay a registration fee of £35 and endeavour to fundraise a minimum of £200 to help us make a vital difference to our Armed Forces community.

Grantham: Grantham Army Cadets

Grantham Army Cadets at the Cadet Hut, Prince William of Gloucester Barracks. The troop holds activities including: first aid training; shooting; navigation; expedition training; rock climbing; archery; clay pigeon shooting; laser tag; fieldcraft; radio training and competition days between detachments.

2 Squadron of Lincolnshire ACF covers Grantham, Sleaford, Crowland, Market Deeping, Bourne and Stamford.

Cadets must be aged 12, in Year 8 or over to join.

Adult volunteers to help facilitate at detachments are always welcome too!
