Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust - almost £3M to support systemic change in Armed Forces communities

The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust (the Trust) has awarded almost £3 million to nine transformative projects in this year’s round of the Covenant Fund Transformational Grants programme.

Continuing the trend from last year’s awards, the Trust has selected projects which aim to deliver systemic change within the Armed Forces community in a variety of different ways.

Each of the funded projects has a different focus, from supporting older Veterans, to tackling stigma amongst female Veterans. Mental health and wellbeing outcomes are an important element of many of the projects, though the ways of taking on these challenges vary from sports to e-learning, and training to inclusive programmes of activity and new and improved ways of delivering services.

Families are still able to use the boilers, however, IDEAL advise families to repressurise their boiler and ensure they register their details for an upgrade. Instructions on how to do this, can be found on IDEAL's website: https://www.idealsupport.co.uk/

Scotland: Cats Protection Lifeline, a specialist fostering service for people experiencing domestic abuse now launched in Scotland

Many refuges – including Moray Women’s Aid – are unable to take-in pets belonging to women & children fleeing domestic abuse. In addition to heartbreak for all involved (two- and four-legged), this can actually prevent people leaving their abusers. Perpetrators of domestic abuse often threaten pets as a way to maintain control over their victims.

The Cats Protection are launching LIFELINE - their specialist fostering service for people experiencing domestic abuse – in Scotland for the first time.

Lifeline helps arrange a temporary, loving home for these superior creatures cats until their owners can be safely reunited again. All fostering expenses (including vet bills & food) are fully covered by Cats Protection.

For more information about this service you can also lifeline@cats.org.uk or phone 0345 260 1280.
