Community Support:

Community Support staff offer play, youth and community projects, as well as clubs, residential experiences and work within schools. We support service children, young people, and their families across the UK, and overseas, in geographically dispersed communities. Community Support staff combine direct delivery with non-public funded projects, and external links with local partners and agencies.

Defence Youth Offer:

Community Support staff seek positive outcomes for children and young people in mitigating the negative impact of family mobility and parental deployment, in accordance with the Defence Youth Offer. By listening to children and young people, their needs and concerns, and providing a level of safeguarding. We adopt best practice, compliance with Government legislation, policy and guidance, for safe working with children and young people.

Community Needs Assessment:

We contribute to community capacity, through the recruitment and training of volunteers.
We improve community resilience, well-being and mental health, through support to individuals and families. We ensure access to a range of activities, including parenting skills, life skills, the understanding of cultural differences, and wider community integration. We also work with Personal Support colleagues to provide early help to support families in need.
