Hereford: Books & Brews at Hereford Library

A friendly readers' group where everyone is welcome to enjoy book chat and a cuppa!

In celebration of the National Year of Reading 2026, we have launched Books & Brews - a readers’ group designed to welcome new members, encourage social connection and celebrate reading for pleasure in a relaxed, friendly space.

August: A Killer in Paradise by Tom Hindle - When five old friends are invited to join Abigail Blythe at the launch of her luxury hotel in the Costa Rican rainforest, they jump at the chance to spend a week in paradise... When a body is discovered during the hotel's launch event, it soon becomes clear that one among them must be responsible. Someone is desperate to keep an old secret hidden - whatever the cost

September: There are Rivers in the Sky by Elif Shafak - '...a rich, sweeping novel set between the 19th century and modern times, about love and loss, memory and erasure, hurt and healing, centred around three enchanting characters living on the banks of the River Thames and the River Tigris - their lives all curiously touched by the epic of Gilgamesh.'

Everyone is welcome — no pressure, no homework!
Copies of our chosen books are available from the library counter.

No booking is needed — just drop in for good conversation, warm drinks and great books!
