Vale of Glamorgan Council:

With autumn now underway, some of our services look a little different, and with October half term just around the corner, many of our teams have plenty to offer!
We know it can be hard to keep up with everything the council is doing, so we’ve created a new seasonal email bulletin.

It’s a quick snapshot of the things you might want to know, from service changes like waste and recycling collections, to free family activities, library events, and even courses to learn something new.

Sign up and you’ll soon receive our autumn bulletin

Veterans: Have Your Say on Digital Needs

Calling All UK Veterans

Research and data are vital in shaping how funding is directed to meet community needs across the UK. The veterans’ community is no different, when needs are identified and backed by evidence, resources can be allocated to make a real difference.

That’s why we’ve been asked by King’s College London to help circulate their Veterans’ Digital Needs Study.

If you are a former member of the UK Armed Forces (aged 18+ and residing in the UK), we invite you to take part.
If you are a carer or family member supporting a veteran, you can also complete the survey on their behalf.

The online questionnaire takes just 10–15 minutes to complete and covers:
• Military service background
• General health and wellbeing
• Digital technology use
• Any challenges faced with digital access

All responses are anonymous, and your data will be stored securely for research purposes only.

You can take part via the QR code or by clicking this link: https://qualtrics.kcl.ac.uk/jfe/form/SV_5w3138xWRgZRzeu...

Your voice matters. By sharing your experiences, you can help ensure that the right resources and support reach the veteran community where they’re needed most.

The Family Hub Offer:

If you have any questions about Family Hubs and would like to talk to somebody face to face, Family Hubs is a friendly and welcoming place to answer all queries! Family worker employees can provide advice, guidance, and signposting to offer help.

Sometimes families need extra help and the Family Support Team provides that. These staff members will talk to you and your family to fully understand the things you find difficult. Then plan a package of help with you and other professionals if required.
