Wales: Chickenpox Vaccine roll-out begins today (2nd Jan 26) across Wales
A vaccination programme to protect young children against chickenpox is being rolled out in Wales.
All children aged 12 to 18 months across the UK will be offered a vaccine for chickenpox - also known as Varicella – for the first time.
The vaccine will be offered in a two-dose programme at 12 and 18 months of age using a combined MMRV (measles, mumps, rubella and varicella) vaccine.
A catch-up programme for older children up to six-years-old will be offered later in the year.

If so, the Primary School Admission Round for learners born between 01/09/2021 – 31/08/2022 is now open.
Parents/Carers need to complete an online application
Applications need to be made by the deadline of Thursday 15 January 2026.
Primary Common Offer Date is Thursday 16 April 2026.

Give Us Time - 2026 breaks are live!
Give Us Time first breaks for 2026 are live on the website now – there are dates in March and April across the UK, in both glamping pods (which sleep up to 4) and holiday lodges (which sleep up to 6). There are two new locations this year as well, at Malvern View in Herefordshire, and Glendal in Cumbria.

Breaks are accommodation only – Give Us Time do not cover the costs of travel, food, or entertainment as part of the break.
Breaks are booked on a first come first served basis and they ask families to wait 2 years between bookings, but will always consider exceptional circumstances.
