Free Childcare for Armed Forces Families at The National Transition Event – Silverstone, 2 Mar

For the first time ever, the National Transition Event has partnered with RAFA Kidz to provide a free, professionally staffed crèche service for members of the Armed Forces Community with children aged 2–4 years, allowing more members of our fantastic community to attend.

A UK first, Mission Motorsport’s partnership with RAFA Kidz is designed to break down barriers for those with children, ensuring parents and carers can fully engage with the event while their young children enjoy a safe, fun, and supervised environment.

It offers a valuable opportunity for meaningful engagement with businesses that understand the transition from military to civilian life, allowing attendees to gain first‑hand insights from ex‑military employees, receive tailored advice, and explore a variety of career opportunities.

Session Timings:

Session 1: 08:00 - 10:00hrs

Session 2: 10:30 - 12:30hrs

Session 3: 13:30 - 15:30hrs

Please note:Spaces are limited and must be booked in advance.
Children must be between 2–4 years old on the day of the event.
Parents/carers must remain on-site at all times.

The National Transition Event (NTE) connects the Armed Forces community with real opportunities, genuine support, and people who understand the transition journey. Set against the iconic Silverstone racetrack, NTE is the largest Armed Forces community gathering of its kind in the UK.

Blandford: Activity based day for parents & young person age 11 -15 - Thurs 26th March

 

Places are limited. If you are a  family with children age 11 - 15 and would like to attend, please apply for places as soon as possible using the ‘Scan to book’ QR code (on poster above)

For anyone who doesn’t have a scan facility on their phone, parents/carers can book online at Living with Parents Workshop registration form and survey – Fill in form. Registration includes a short survey asking parents what they feel communication is like with their child/teen at the moment.

Each child must be accompanied by one parent/carer. To book places for a second child and parent/carer, please rescan and fill in the registration form again.

The workshops are school approved, so don’t affect attendance, however parents must notify their child’s school in advance.

New MOD Policy on Overseas Assignments published: Overseas Accompanied Service Assessments


A new MOD policy giving guidance to Service personnel and their families on considering and preparing for an overseas posting has been published today on Gov.uk at this link: Overseas Accompanied Service Assessments - GOV.UK.

This policy applies to Service personnel planning to take their families on an overseas assignment, particularly those with additional medical, social care, or educational needs. The assessment process is designed to take a holistic judgment about whether the host location can reasonably meet the family’s needs and whether associated risks to their health, education, safety, or well-being can be appropriately managed.

For all bookings, a £50 deposit will be required within 7 days of making the booking and the full balance is to be paid 28 days prior to stay. The rate is set at £50 per night for the first three nights, then £25 per night thereafter.

Bovington: Tank Museum annual pass and concessionary tickets for garrison personnel & families

An Annual Pass allows you to visit The Tank Museum as many times as you want for a year (excluding Special Event days). Every regular admission ticket purchased including Access All Areas and Experience Days automatically comes with an Annual Pass.
All Special Event tickets also include an Annual Pass.

Bovington Garrison Concessionary Tickets - Tank Museum FREE entry

Concessionary ticket management is via Guardroom, Allenby Barracks Tickets are available for military personnel and service families living or working at Bovington 

For personnel & families at Lulworth camp, Tickets are available via the Lulworth Camp Guardroom

1 ticket covers 2 adults and 2 children. MOD personnel can use their MOD90 card to gain free entry to Tank Museum. 

Tickets are to be collected on day of use and returned at the earliest opportunity.

Concessionary tickets cannot be used for special events such as Tankfest or Tiger Day.
