First, you must enter the spooky castle prison to pick a mini pumpkin. Then, take your chosen pumpkin to our decoration station and transform it into a spooky Halloween decoration to take home.
There’s no messy carving here - just felt pens, stickers and stick-on gemstones!

A half-term adventure of pumpkins, mythical storytelling and family fun!
For two weeks only, you’ll find giant pumpkins, spellbinding stories and family activities around the zoo. Look out for our giant pumpkin sculptures, join in with campfire stories, and enjoy autumn flavours along the way. It’s a Halloween experience you won’t find anywhere else - and it’s all free with zoo admission.

Vale of Glamorgan: Vale Family Information Service - Halloween Holiday Programme 2025
The Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Family Information Service has launched a Halloween Programme 2025, offering a wide range of free and low-cost activities for families and young people throughout the upcoming half term.
Working in partnership with organisations across the Vale, the Council’s Family Information Service (FIS) team have put together a calendar of events suitable for children and young people up to the age of 18, alongside a range of family activities.
There are Halloween discos, pumpkin crafts, and fancy-dress events throughout the Vale of Glamorgan. Vale Libraries, and the Healthy Living Team are also offering several events for children and teens to participate in during the half term.
The Halloween Holiday Programme 2025 kicks off on Saturday 25th October and will run until Sunday 2nd November.
