Wimbish: Authority for dogs to be allowed back onto Carver Barracks
The following additional points must be adhered to in order to continue to allow dogs to access the barracks: All dogs must be registered with their sub unit SSM or Head of Department (HoD). Once registered, the dog owner will be issued a tag which must be placed on the collar of the dog, especially when accessing site. If you are stopped to ask about your dog and no dog tag is present then you will be asked to leave the barracks. All registered dogs must have in date and valid pet insurance which is to be shown to the SSM/HoD when registering.
Dogs must be on a lead within barracks at all times. Dog waste must be picked up and deposited in a dog waste bin or general waste bin either on site or at your home address. Do not use the recycling bins on site. Dogs are allowed access to site either to go to an office with the dog owner (if authorised by SSM/HoD) or as a thoroughfare to the airfield. The camp is not to be used as a dog walking facility and access is only granted for movement to and from work or the airfield. SLA dog owners are still encouraged to walk their dogs off site and not to use the camp as a dog walking facility where possible. Any full dog waste bins on site or on the airfield can be reported to the Amey help desk as they are in contract for emptying. If full, report and also take your dog waste home until emptied. Any breaches of the above could see a return to a ban of all dogs on site. If you witness other dog owners breaching any of the above then you must have the moral courage to challenge; the minority will always cause issues for the majority.
