Cafe Inc is a free lunch club for children, and young people. It provides tasty, healthy meals for our young people, while our schools are closed during the holidays. 

No need to book, just turn up. 

Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult, who can also have a meal.

Aberdeen: Vacancy Notice – Part-time Cleaner at the Cadet Training Centre Boddam (2 HLDRS BN ACF), closing date noon Friday 18th July

A vacancy has arisen with the Highland Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association (HRFCA) for a Cleaner at the Cadet Training Centre at Boddam, Aberdeenshire. 

The position is part time, 10 hours per week. Applicants should reside within easy commuting distance of Boddam.

This is a Crown Servant (Civil Servant Band SZ1 equivalent) and the salary is £6,374. The successful candidate will be eligible to join the Council of RFCA’s Pension Scheme which operates on a Career Average Revalued Earnings (CARE) basis and has a personal contribution for members of 5% of pensionable earnings. Annual leave, excluding Public Holidays, is 25 days per year, rising to 30 days after 5 years’ service; previous public sector employment may count towards qualifying years’ service.

The Summer Reading Challenge is a FREE summer activity for children. 

Read 6 books over the holidays, and you will receive a medal and certificate as well as stickers for each book you read or event you attend along the way. 

You can sign up at Blandford Library, Wool Community Library or any other library in the county.

The Vale of Glamorgan Agricultural Show returns this August!

With over 20,000 visitors each year, the show returns to Penllyn on Wednesday 13th August.

Now the largest one day event in the Vale of Glamorgan, the day features - livestock and horse showing, with over 200 Trade Stands on the main field, the Food Court, selling produce, most of which has been grown or made in the Vale, along with a Shopping Mall and a large Craft Fair!

Leuchars: Increase in night flying at Leuchars Aerodrome week 7th - 11th July


There will be an increase in night time flying at Leuchars Station week commencing 07 Jul 25.


Flying will take place between the hours of 3pm and 1.30am (Mon-Thu), and 12pm and 5pm (Fri). These times are subject to change where operations require.
Any local enquiries (within 5 mile radius of Leuchars) to Air Traffic Control on 01334 857282.
