The Tyne-Wear Remembrance Match is back on Friday 6th November 2026, bringing both sides of the Tyne-Wear divide together through football, remembrance and a shared commitment to supporting our Armed Forces community.

The streets around the centre of the county town will be illuminated on Saturday 21 November for the Christmas Lights Switch On.
The day will include live music and street entertainment before the lights are turned on at 5pm in the Market Square.
